green energy project to feed tunnels lighting
More than 800 solar panels were commissioned in North Vienna in Austria to light three tunnels of the motorway operated by Bonaventura Services GmbH, a subsidiary of Egis.
These solar panels, which amount 221 kWp of total capacity, will produce around 250,000 kWh of power per year and will save more than 90,000 kg of CO2 emissions per year. They were installed for Bonaventura Services GmbH’ motorway with the help of Egis for the project management. This project is part of Egis global approach to develop green infrastructures, starting with our motorways and airports through energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. The objective is to foster the role of infrastructures in producing renewable energy in the territories they are crossing, to add innovative services to rest areas, toll plazas, parking roofs, tunnels entrances, etc. and take a first step towards a greener mobility.
